Cheese Tart

halo there!
i actually made this simple Cheese Tart for my little boy's birthday celebration last week. purposely. however, the Ayahanda decided to have ice-cream for him and so, ummi's cheese tart left in the oven until the next day. ooops, doesn't mean that my cheese tart wasn't impressive enough but, yes, i have to admit that the premium ice-cream won. hehhh

i have this simple recipe flew from my kitchen brain-library. believe me, you don't have to work really hard for it, but make sure to have the ingredients in hand, first. all ingredients that i have here was already available in my fridge, and by 2 hours the tart was ready to be served.

Cheese Tart
for the crust you will need;
1 and half cup of flour, sifted
1 cup of cold salted butter (cut into small cubes)
enough cold water

mix sifted flour with butter and rub them with your finger until resembled as bread crumbs. add cold water, little by little until the mixture are well formed as a ball. a perfect dough doesn't stick to the bowl and your fingers. don't work too long kneading the dough as this may allow the air to harden the dough. work fast and very little cold water is needed.

keep the dough in the fridge (do not freeze it!) while preparing the filling.

for the cheese filling;
250 gram cream cheese (i use spreadable cream cheese)
enough sugar according to your taste
2 to 3 tablespoon of fresh milk (room temperature) or may be substitute with water or evaporated milk
1 tsp lemon rind
1 small egg (slightly beaten), i think B grade would do.

good amount of Nutella.

mix all filling ingredients except the egg until sugar dissolved . and then add in the egg, mix well but don't beat. leave aside and ready to go back, to work with the crust.

have the dough ready and roll them flat. the ingredient here should fit an 8inc diameter tart pan nicely. please make sure to grease and flour the pan first before placing the rolled dough (discard this step if non-stick pan is used). trim the excess dough, tekan-tekan sikit supaya doh lekat pada pan, and pre-bake the crust at 180 degree until browning / cook for at least 20-25 minutes, whichever comes first.

take out the crust from oven, spread with nutella (kalau tak de bley skip) and fill in the cheese filling, bake again for about 10 to 15 minutes more or until set.

Cheese Tart is ready to be served.

give it a try and impress others! enjoy baking!!

friends, it would be grateful to read your comments and so-called cooking report; and you don't have to be nice!
